Mecorad Radar Sensor

A high-resolution radar measurement solution built for the steel industry

Mecorad Radar Sensor

Mecorad radar sensor is specifically designed for the steel industry and the hot metal forming processes of non-ferrous metals, where accurate measurements can be difficult to achieve in demanding industrial environments. In the world of hot steel and metal processing, it is the ideal solution. Engineered with cutting-edge radar technology, these sensors are built to tackle the unique challenges of the metal and steel industry.

Why choose radar technology for your steel and metal measurement needs?

Ultrasound

Struggles in heterogeneous environments. Dust, steam, and heat disrupt measurements, making it less suitable for industrial metal processing.

Laser

Precision under specific conditions but hindered by dust or deposits. Mecorad Radar Sensors outshine these limitations, providing a reliable alternative.

Radar

Based on electromagnetic waves, it outshines the competition. Unfazed by adverse conditions, radar emerges as the superior choice for real-world industrial applications.

Solutions

Distance Series

The distance series is designed to measure the distances between hot and cold items. It operates reliably and requires minimal upkeep, even in environments with dirt, dust, intense heat, thermal radiation, or aerosols. Data is transmitted to the PLC through Modbus/TCP.

Level Series

Mecorad’s level series is designed to withstand the most extreme conditions. Even directly above a mold, tundish or ladle, the ultra robust sensor accurately measures levels and freeboard reliably in real time.It is perfect for applications where precise real-time information on levels or freeboard of hot metals and slags. It is integrated with a Modbus/TCP interface measurement results are communicated directly to the PLC.

Scout Sensor Series

The Scout Series is mecorad’s advanced radar detection solution designed for the demanding conditions of the metal and steel industries. It accurately detects objects at distances ranging from 200 mm to 5000 mm from the sensor, providing quick and reliable real-time performance. This capability is effective even when handling extremely hot or cold metal, or in situations where visibility is compromised by fog, dirt, or cooling water.

Wtl series

The wtl series provides accurate and reliable data from the most challenging phases of continuous casting and hot rolling of flat products, long products, or heavy plates. The software that powers this solution disseminates digital information across all production levels, enabling flexible manufacturing and more. Understand your production outcomes and execute precise in-line adjustments to enhance yield.
